The Bell in Scona is a proud emblem of Old Strathcona and Alberta’s rich heritage. Housed in a vintage building, they have created a space to celebrate and share the region of Alberta's history through unique culinary and brewing experiences. The Bell in Scona is more than a brewery, taproom, or event venue. It’s a communal hub in Scona where the past and present coalesce, inviting locals and visitors to celebrate the richness of Alberta. 

 

THREE FLOORS

The Brewery brings a piece of the past into the present by using antique pre-war cast iron and copper vessels to craft distinctive beers. 

The Taproom offers a curated menu using locally sourced ingredients, marrying tradition with innovation. 

The Bell Room event space brims with warmth and genuine hospitality and is a welcoming backdrop for your grand celebrations.

WE ARE THE BELL

The Bell in Scona aimed to establish itself as the premier destination for local millennials and Gen Zs in the Old Strathcona and White Ave area.

 

I created a media campaign that leveraged the venue's rich heritage, exceptional culinary offerings, craft beers, cocktails, and vibrant ambiance to attract and engage this target audience.

 

The campaign aimed to build on previous successes by emphasizing the culture and community of The Bell through high-performing content on Instagram and TikTok.

Success: 

 

  • Increased Brand Awareness: Boosted recognition of The Bell among local millennials and Gen Zs - done by having The Bell collaborate with different influencers and attend close by festivals such as fringe fest and other events where the target demographic which included university campuses.

  • Drove Foot Traffic: Encouraged social media followers and viewers to visit the venue in person - done by encouraging already present patrons to post while at the restaurant and reposting their experiences with us as a way of letting them feel they had a personal relationship with The Bell. This allowed them to recommend The Bell as a go-to dining and event location. This helped with brand awareness and recognition and increased The Bell's metrics and KPIs on TikTok and Instagram.

  • Showcase Unique Offerings: Highlight the heritage, chef-curated menu, craft beers, and signature cocktails - done by beginning everyday promotions such as having menu item pairings; where all of our ingredients are Albertan sourced and are native to or drink items specials each day of the week and hosting events like The Bells Comedy Nights MCd by a local Indigenous comedian. This not only allowed for fostering a relationship with the community but also showed that we support all of our city.
